More Ink Drawings Coming!

If you’ve been following my Instagram or Facebook then you know my parents came to visit us in Indonesia for Christmas.

My mom and I had so much fun shopping together, and part of the fun was sharing hints on what we’d each like for Christmas. I showed my mom this ink that’s featured in my drawings. It’s a Japanese ink called Pilot Iroshizuku. The colours are rich and I absolutely love the flow of the ink through the fountain pen.

When my mom saw the variety of colours, she and my dad bought me two new bottles – an orange and a green! These colours are both symbolic of the lush jungles around us, the green of the sprawling plants and the vivid orange of the Birds of Paradise flowers that seem to be at every turn. They speak to me of life and vibrancy.

It was a joy to share my “Life on the Edge of the Jungle” with my parents. It’s so meaningful that they added these particular colours to my ink palette.

The video below is one I posted a few months ago, that shows the process of drawing with this gorgeous water-soluble ink, in turquoise. The poem I read speaks of my love for nature. I hope the video, and my art, gives you a chance to take some deep breathes and relax after a busy holiday season.

In 2026, there will be more ink drawings to come. I hope you enjoy the video and it gives you insight into my main art-making process. Thanks again for your support through 2025 and I look forward to sharing new art with you in 2026!

P.S. Orange or green? Which one would you reach for and why? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
